Frequently asked questions

Is your wood below 20% moisture?

All of our firewood is kiln dried using our effective "hot air blower" powered by all of our waste wood and offcuts !

We meticulously test the wood throughout the drying process to ensure every piece meets the recommended standard.

What species of wood do you supply?

Our current main species of wood we supply is ash and beech, both our hardwoods with the perfect mix of properties for firewood. It has a good density allowing it to burn with a long and steady heat.

What size are your logs?

All of our firewood has a preset length of 24cm or approximately 9.5inches. We have found this to be the optimal length for most Woodburners, open fires and stoves.

Please not we can supply larger lengths if required, however the wait time on this might be slightly longer !

Can I collect wood from you?

Yes, we do offer a collection service for our net bags of logs and kindling from the nursery which are available anytime within opening hours. A collection of a bulk bag is also possible but please phone to arrange collection to allow us to get it ready for you.

What is the best way to store my firewood?

We always suggest a log store in which is raised of the ground and has shelter from the rain, preferably one which is open sided to allow air flow.
